Every year, <a href="https://www.louisvillerealestatepros.com/louisville-homes/">Louisville, Kentucky </a>hosts a one-of-a-kind St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It’s a celebration of Irish heritage, love of Louisville, and overall camaraderie. This year, the parade takes place on Saturday, March 9th, at 3pm.

The parade itself provides fun and entertainment for the whole family. Floats, costumes, music, and cheers are shared with over 100,000 parade goers. Kids love the fun decorations, wildly dressed participants, and goodies that are often handed out. Adults love to experience the Irish culture, celebrate with friends, and enjoy a good Irish brew! Truly, it’s fun for all ages.

The 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade theme, is “Shakin’ The Shillelagh”. New to this Irish term? A shillelagh is a stick made of oak or blackthorn. It usually has a large knob at the end, and it’s a common part of Irish folklore. Crafted and used by the Irish in the Middle Ages, a shillelagh was a companion of the traditional Irish peasant. (Now you know!)
Winding through <a href="https://www.louisvillerealestatepros.com/communities/">Louisville’s neighborhood</a> of the <a href="https://www.louisvillerealestatepros.com/highlands-homes/">Highlands</a>, the St. Patrick’s Day parade is just a piece of the city’s celebration of the Irish. Once you’ve had your fill of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, head to Goodwood Brewery (636 E. Main St. Louisville, KY 40202) for the Blessing of the Beer. 8. Have your home inspected and appraised.
Once you have accepted an offer, your home will enter into a “sale pending” status. During this time, we will work with the buyer’s agent to schedule an appraisal and any home inspections that are needed. If the buyer requests any repairs to be made on the home, we will continue to negotiate on your behalf. As an experienced real estate team, we also have a network of trusted vendors that can be recommended to make any necessary repairs. Swift completion of these inspections is crucial to a successful closing, so we will consistently push for status updates and timely conclusion of projects from all contractors and inspectors.
9. Prepare for closing.
As indicated in our Contract-to-Close timeline, we will contact the title company and buyer’s agent a few days prior to your closing date (also known as settlement date). This contact will be a final check to be sure that all the necessary forms have been prepared. We will touch base with you to go over any final questions that you may have to ensure that our meeting at the closing table goes as smoothly as you would hope. At this time, we will let you know if there is any additional information that we will need from you. We will also confirm that you know what you will need to bring with you to closing.

10. Close on your home!
For this meeting, your real estate agent will accompany you to transfer ownership of your property to the buyer. Located in the Louisville Mega Cavern, at 1841 Taylor Ave. Louisville, KY 40213, this is an underground light show that you don’t want to miss. Drive your own car through the cavern while listening to the holiday sounds of the season. Over 850 characters are cued to light up to the holiday music while 2,000,000 twinkling lights fill the cavern. Have the kids roll down their windows and see who can spot their favorite festive characters!
Lights Under Louisville runs now until January 3, 2016. It’s open Monday – Friday, from 6pm until 10pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy the lights from 5pm until 10pm. Weekends tend to get busy. So although they have the line situation down to a science, come prepared for a bit of a wait. Just bring some hot chocolate and your family’s favorite Christmas tunes, and you’ll be set. The wait is worth it!

Located at 401 West River Road, the Belle of Louisville is our city’s pride and joy. Built in 1914, the Belle of Louisville is a National Historic Landmark! Hop on board the oldest operating Mississippi-style steamboat for some good old-fashioned Halloween family fun. On Saturday, 10/31/15, there will be a themed sightseeing tour; it will be complete with trick-or-treating, music, and dancing. Be sure to come in your best costume! The whole family will want to join in the fun.

Go Trick-or-Treating at the Mall
Looking for a place to head with the little ones for easy trick-or-treating?
