Give A Day

The Kentucky Derby is just around the corner and that means a month of excitement for those that live in Louisville, KY. The official start of the Derby begins this year with a new event, Give a Day. This will take place April 15-22. Those that live in Louisville are fully aware of massive numbers of volunteers that make all of these great events possible. The idea is that same giving spirit will spread to other deserving service projects.

Give a Day is an opportunity for the residents of Louisville to pull together to provide a service projects for our community, neighbors, and deserving organizations.  "We want Louisville to be known as the most caring city, where neighbors help neighbors and people look after each other," Mayor Greg Fischer said. "We want as many people as possible in all areas of our city to get involved in Give A Day".

The largest private employer in the city of Louisville, UPS will be a large contributor to this service project. Organizations that will benefit from this effort are The Center for Women and Families, Dare to Care, Home of the Innocents, and numerous others.
