It's the spookiest time of the year!
Halloween is this Saturday, and as usual, there are tons of things to do in Louisville this weekend. Enjoying a Louisville Halloween is quite simple when you just do a little research and plan ahead.
With that being said, here are a few Halloween things to do with the whole family on October 31, 2015.

Take a Halloween Cruise on the Belle of Louisville
Located at 401 West River Road, the Belle of Louisville is our city’s pride and joy. Built in 1914, the Belle of Louisville is a National Historic Landmark! Hop on board the oldest operating Mississippi-style steamboat for some good old-fashioned Halloween family fun. On Saturday, 10/31/15, there will be a themed sightseeing tour; it will be complete with trick-or-treating, music, and dancing. Be sure to come in your best costume! The whole family will want to join in the fun.

Go Trick-or-Treating at the Mall
Looking for a place to head with the little ones for easy trick-or-treating? Both Mall St. Matthews and Oxmoor Mall will offer the opportunity inside! This is a great option if you prefer to stay out of the October weather or want a safe traffic-free environment to collect some candy. Children can go store to store in their costumes to fill up their goody bags. It’s a great way to enjoy your Louisville Halloween with the whole family!
Mall St. Matthews is located at 5000 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY 40207. Oxmoor Mall is just on the other side of I-264 at 7900 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. Both trick-or-treating events run from 5 -7pm.
Get in the True Halloween Spirit in Louisville, KY's Spookiest Neighborhoods
Hillcrest Avenue, in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, is by far the most decked out street in the city. Residents on the street go all out and spend weeks preparing their yards for the Halloween crowds. People come from all over the place to check out the scene. You really have to see it to believe it! If you are looking for the perfect place to be spooked, Hillcrest Ave is it. Be warned; it can get very busy. Plan to park a street or two over and spend some time strolling with the crowds. It will certainly be worth it though!
Old Louisville is another great place to trick-or-treat is you’re looking for an authentic Louisville Halloween experience. The Victorian-style homes make for the ultimate haunted house scene. It’s hair-raising for sure. Read up on the area’s Halloween history to get yourself in the true spooked-out spirit.
